Archers Fork Hike

A family weekend hike we took in Wayne National Forest on Archers Fork Trail in September of 2017. This is a difficult trail with some steep ups and downs for anyone planning a family outing. Hiking the trail isn't bad but carrying a 35 pound pack adds a level of difficulty for sure. My kids are pretty tough so they soldiered through it. It was a good time but very hot weather. 2024 Rust Oleum Truck Bed Coating is now $16.99 at Advance Auto and AutoZone. Found it for $12 at Menards. Amazing how much further $1 went 6 years ago. (2018)

    I paid $18 for the regular rustoleum and it looks like reg spray paint. Rolling it with the stuff in the can is 100% better. Those sprays are junk

    I like the texture of the Dupli-color as well. Too bad the products that give you texture also clog up easier. I went with basic Rustoleum ( looks like basic black spray paint almost no texture) and put a final coat of Rustoleum Pro on top and it's a little better. I tried the Harbor Freight version of spray bed liner--like the texture, but it clogged up almost from the get go.

    I used the Dupli-color, and it was in a can and I rolled it on the floor of my 67 IH Scout and after 30 years- yup it's still holding on pretty good- FYI

    Soak your cans in hot water for about 30 minutes before you spray and you wont get those clogs as much.

    Thank you for this video. I appreciate the "two year update". I watched yours and a couple others using this engine for a log splitter. Last week I put the same engine on my nearly 30 year old 20 ton Speeco splitter. (The original 5 hp Tecumseh finally quit, and I had already replaced the hydraulic pump on mine a few years ago.) The Harbor Freight (Predator) 5.5 hp price is up just over $200 now, FYI, and this is the ONLY vertical shaft engine they sell. Still a lot cheaper than any other engine I could find "in store". I too used wire to bypass/rig the throttle issues. Other than a minor hydraulic line re-route to avoid the new exhaust it was a direct bolt in for my splitter. The fuel line is pretty flimsy thin rubber on it, and I'll replace it soon with "real" fuel line (and a filter).

    Well I'm at the stage that i have to do my bed and from what I've seen this is the best way to go. When you put down your checker plat did you lay it in when the bed was upside down on the or right side up? Did you weld your strips each side before or after you lay down the checker plate ? Thank you for this video it 's very helpful for the average joe such as myself .

    • @joerootsr
      @joerootsr 11 месяцев назад

      It's been a minute but I think the strips were welded to the plate first with it laying on the floor. Then it was set into place while the bed was upside down. It is holding up well considering that was 2017/2018.

    For the line that you didn't replace, would that one have to be replaced all the way back to the transmission? I destroyed it trying to get it off the radiator and it looks like one heck of a project to get a whole new line in back to the transmission.

    I used the regular Rustoleum spray on the bed of my Tacoma twenty years ago and it held up very well. I used my truck like a truck, not a mall crawler. I just resprayed the spots that got gouged. I just gave that 2003 Tacoma to my son two weeks ago! I also used it to paint the front and rear bumpers of my Chevy van and it holds up very well even after using the bumpers as steps. I haven't had to respray them yet.

    I think for the money and the least amount of problems applying my bet is with the Restroleum Pro! There’s nothing worse then spraying and being interrupted with cleaning the tip every minute or two. It affects your application and eventual looks and coverage! I’m going with Restroleum Pro! Restroleum Spray products have never let me down!

    I used that same engine as a replacement on my pressure washer. It was easy to remove the engine break just pull off the engine cover to access it and I left the lever in place as the electrical kill switch. I put a small light duty spring on it for engine shut down I just push the lever forward for a half second that grounds out the ignition to kill the engine with no engine break to disrupt operation . the whole job took me ten mins. Engine runs great pressure washer is like new
